Presentador de punto pelota

Punto pelota | part 1 | 29/01/2015

Until last week, ‘Punto Pelota’ -with its successes and mistakes- was the reference program for soccer talk shows on television. Its model began to be imitated, they had very media-rich collaborators in the field of sports journalism and their dominance in social networks was overwhelming. All that changed completely after the dismissal of Josep Pedrerol, alma mater of the program until that moment.
Last Wednesday, more than one regular viewer of ‘Punto pelota’ was surprised to tune in, as every night, to Intereconomía and discover that this program had nothing to do with the one he usually followed and which was presented by Josep Pedrerol with Tomás Roncero or Siro López as collaborators.
A few hours before, the news of Pedrerol’s dismissal by Intereconomía and how the usual team of the Catalan presenter and journalist was forbidden to enter the channel’s facilities.
The relationship between the network and Pedrerol had already reached a high level of unsustainability due to the debt that the latter has with Pedrerol’s production company (in charge of producing ‘Punto Pelota’). A debt that amounted to about 600,000 euros corresponding to 6 months of non-payments.

Guardiola remembers punto pelota in press conference

On November 29, 2009, he achieved a Guinness World Record for more than 19 consecutive hours on the air. On April 10, 2010, he beat his own Guinness World Record for more than 22 consecutive hours on the air, dates that coincide with the Clásicos.
Punto Pelota was directed by the well-known sports journalist Josep Pedrerol, who performed the functions of director and presenter of the program since September 2008, when he signed with Intereconomía after not renewing his contract with Punto Radio, until December 4, 2013, when he was fired by the directors of Intereconomía after a series of disputes due to the debt contracted by the television channel with the Catalan presenter, his team and in general to practically all the workers of the channel. [4] Punto Pelota achieved the record for the longest broadcast of a sports program. It was broadcast 19 hours in a row, the 19 hours prior to the Barcelona – Real Madrid match. The marathon started at 12:00 and ended at 19:00. After the match, Punto Pelota resumed broadcasting, so although the record is 19 hours, the program is considered to have lasted 23 hours.

Journalist Josep Pedrerol leaves Punto Pelota. The battle that he had been openly maintaining with the management of Intereconomía for a few days has ended, this afternoon, with the prohibition on the part of the channel to the program team to access its facilities. The twenty or so editors and collaborators of Punto Pelota tried to access the studios at five o’clock in the afternoon and found that the security team prevented them from entering. However, Carlos García-Hirschfeld, who will be in charge of presenting, starting today, Intereconomía’s highest rated program, has been able to access the studios.
Intereconomía plans to keep the name of the program and entrust its production to the former presenter of Antena 3, Carlos García-Hirschfeld, who will be in charge of its direction. Pedrerol had already been «very burned» for several weeks with the situation at the network and the lack of payments. «He has even stopped coming in his car,» commented one of the program’s collaborators while waiting in the Intereconomía parking lot for someone to tell them if they could finally get in to work or if they would have to go home.
