On June 10, the CEO of Atlético de Madrid, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, was on the island of Gran Canaria, signing the agreement with Manuel Ley, president of the Canary Island club. The agreement specifies that there will always be a preferential option to sign; the boys who stand out will be tested in Majadahonda; Atletico will help in the training of technicians; there will be Atleti technicians in the entrance exams; participation in tournaments representing Atletico; visits to the Calderon and tickets for matches… These are some of the most important sections of the agreement.

The two historical clubs, both Marino F.C. and Sporting Club Victoria, will be a continuous and inexhaustible quarry of young talents until the creation of the Unión Deportiva. In 1911 the Santa Catalina F.C. appeared in the same neighborhood that gave it its name, while in June 1914 the Tristany was renamed Club Deportivo Gran Canaria, and in 1921 the C.D. Sanata Catalina, which in 1926 changed its name to Athletic Club.
The return to Second Division B in the 87/88 season was not very fortunate and after playing a mediocre championship they ended up being relegated to Third Division after winning ten matches and losing the goal-average with U.P. Plasencia. Again in the fourth national level, the 88/89 session was bitter for him because he finished second, two points behind U.D. Salud, who was promoted directly to Second Division B after a vibrant duel. In the 89/90 edition, he completely overcame the setback of the previous tournament by being the absolute champion and promoted to the bronze category by the fast track.
